By the way i do NOT think that a soda tax will cut ANY consumption at all.......Up until last year the Soda machine at work cost $1 the company that refills the machines jacked up the price to $1.10 for about a week there was a big drop off in the number of soda drinkers here but within a month it was like the price had never changed at all

Would a Soda Tax raise money? YES and if that is a legit goal go for it......Would a Soda tax cut into demand? NO not at the 4-10 cent level IMHO it would take a shocking rate hike to change habits long turn (50-75 cents?)

My main argument isn't about the health part of it, I don't really care as much, it's the main goal to raise money...because it's healthier is a plus. Raising money, then possibly saving more because yes, there would be some cut backs if it were what this last study proposed.

I really wouldn't even have a problem with a hike on something like fast foods, don't really support it, but it would cause a lot of people to cut back. Reminds me of Chris Rocks bit about 10,000 a bullet and watch how the crime rate falls Lol.
